Heartache

Does his impending entry into toddlerhood mean that he's going to start slowly breaking away from me? Will he need me as much anymore?

Oh, wait. Here he comes...

It Had To Be Done

My sister Bethanie finally broke down while I was visiting in Missouri and cut Baby Stiehl's hair. Who knew that a five-month-old would actually need a haircut? He did, though, and I think it made a world of difference!

Playing Cards

"You better not be cheating me, Aunt B..."

"You either, Emilie. I've got my eye on you!"

More Aaron Crack

I guess I was mistaken in my earlier post when I mentioned that the only T.V. program that will keep Aaron interested more than a few minutes was Little Einsteins. I figured out this week that "Deal or No Deal" has the same zoning-out effect, specifically the briefcase chickies.

Go, Baby Stiehl, Go!

My nephew Stiehl turned five months old yesterday and has started to roll over like a champ. At first he would tease his mommy and only roll over for the people at his daycare, but now he likes to show off his new skill to anyone that will watch! Check it out!

Aaron Loves Cousin Stiehl

Aaron is completely fascinated by my nephew, Baby Stiehl. I think he's so used to being surrounded by kids that are older and bigger than him that when he's around someone younger and less mobile, he doesn't quite understand it. Of course, he also loves to touch Stiehl's hair. I mean, who wouldn't? You think maybe he's compensating for his own lack of hair?

What a Difference Seven Months Makes...

Aaron and I are back in Missouri right now visiting my family. We will be here for the next week and a half. I took a great picture of Aaron at the Denver airport during our layover before our flight to St. Louis and got to thinking about how much he's changed in the past seven months or so since his first airplane ride last October.

One obvious difference is that he's able to stand now instead of just lay there. I can remember back in October how much he hated tummy time and I couldn't believe that I was able to get a picture of him with his head up and even a little smile on his face. This time I sat him down on the floor in the terminal and almost had to run to keep up with him!

Another obvious difference is his hair! He doesn't look quite so much like a cue ball anymore!

The Saddest Thing Ever...

Note to self: If he's trying to take snoozes while strapped in his highchair during dinner, it might be time to move Aaron's bedtime routine back just a little bit.

Mini Santa

Can you tell it's laundry day?

Love the Aaron Giggles!

Grandma and Grandpa Q bought Aaron this cork gun in San Antonio during our Spring Break trip. I'm not really a big fan of toy guns, but someone had to buy it for him after the initial reaction that it got. Watch the video to see what I mean!

Happy Birthday, Poppy!

We love you!

Aaron's New Best Friends (and Mine Too!)

Aaron has reached another milestone - he has started to notice the big box that makes noise and lights up and can captivate Mommy and Daddy for hours on end (well, it used to, before he came along). That's right - he has taken notice of the T.V. So far the only show that will keep him captivated for more than a few minutes is Little Einsteins, but you should see his face light up when it comes on! It's heaven! The show follows four school-age children and their rocket ship as they complete "missions" that take them all over the world. The show also showcases famous artwork and music.

Daddy has already implemented an Elmo embargo (he says Elmo's voice is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard), so I figured this would be the next best thing to Sesame Street. I've set our TiVo so that we can watch it everyday while we eat breakfast. I'm afraid that Daddy's going to have to realize, however, that I'm just buying time. Aaron is going to like who he likes; I don't think we'll have that much say in the matter!

Boy, Why Can't You Play With Your Own Toys?!

This Is For You, Aunt Pam

Poor baby needs his Superman jammies tonight for strength; he's got the stomach flu again. Yuck!

Hangin' in the Backyard

The weather we've had this week is why I'm trying to get Bill to retire in Washington. It has been beautiful! Sunny with highs in the upper 60's to low 70's. I have adapted so well to being here that it's hard to now go back to experiencing Midwest weather - my body can't handle extreme temperatures anymore! We decided to try to get Aaron more comfortable with the whole grass issue so we took him outside and plopped him right in the middle of it. He seemed to like it better this time!

And, of course, I had to get some video of Aaron too. Here he is showing you his latest tricks - his best impression of a howler monkey then claps for his Daddy.

Quite Possibly the Coolest Toy Ever!

We finally were able to do our Easter Egg Hunt yesterday now that Daddy's back home. Grandma Q puts together an Easter package for us every year which includes Easter eggs to hide and other goodies. This little toy was in one of my Easter eggs and it gives me giggles every time we play with it, so I thought I'd share it with you!
