Disneyland (Again)

Aaron and I are back down in Disneyland and we brought Daddy with us this time! Actually, Daddy is here for the SETP conference (Society of Experimental Test Pilots) and he was able to take us along. That's cool because we are staying in the nicest hotel I have ever seen. It's called the Grand Californian and the only reason we get to stay here is the conference rate plus the nice little per diem the Air Force is going to pay us. Not too shabby! This is our first day here so we just hung around the hotel until Daddy got done for the day, then we had dinner in Downtown Disney. Our plan is to head into Disneyland and California Adventure tomorrow while Daddy is at the conference.

Blogging from our balcony, thank you very much! However, I will tell you, the room we stayed in in August when I was down here with Lisa and her girls had a much better view! Go figure!

"Come play with us, Danny. Forever and ever and ever..." I swear, if two little brunette girls show up in this hallway, I'm outta here!

The Great Hall. Aaron totally got busy on that piano, if you can see it. Yep, got in some trouble for that...
Bambi...on the shower curtain!!
Aaron's own little piece of heaven...the view from the bathtub. Nothing like watching the Mouse while takin' a tubbie.

Speaking of Funsies...

It's always fun to play with a balloon that's almost bigger than you!

Um, yeah, so no subliminal message here, by the way. This balloon was left over from our spouse coffee last week, where we celebrated the arrival of someone else's baby.

He is Quite Literally Taking All of Our Money

Aaron's new idea of funsies is having one of us dump some of the change out of the big Bud Light bottle (where we have been collecting change since, like, the beginning of our marriage) and transferring it to his own bank. My Target bill jumped $28 the other day because of you and your incessant need for diapers, kid, but, no, you go ahead and take our change too!!

Parental Pain, Now with Classical Music!

My friend Tracy posted this video over on her blog today and I just love it so much, I had to share it with my peeps too:

I also found this one by the same dad, set to Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee:

Thanks Tracy! You made my day with this one.

Side Note: Can I just tell you how funny it is that this daddy's office/workspace/computer room looks like it's being eaten alive by all of his kids' CRAP? Story of my life!

Fruit Pickin'

Last weekend, Aaron and I went up to Tehachapi with my friend Becky and her family to pick apples and berries! It was so much fun. Aaron was so much better at picking this time than even in the spring. I guess it helped that the trees were loaded with fruit that was at toddler height!

Beautiful Tehachapi. We thought briefly about moving up there after Bill is done with TPS in December. It's about 45 minutes from base and at an elevation of about 4,000 feet. It's known as the "Land of Four Seasons," not just hot and cold like down here in the desert. We decided against it, though, because we're tired of moving and don't want to have to do it again for a while!
Picking, picking and more picking!
Aaron and Becky's daughter Jenna. She is only ten days younger than him!
The girls following the boys - Aaron, Becky's son Joey and her husband Mark (he's in Bill's class).

The kids playing in the corn box! Yeah, sand would be way too boring.

Damages

One of my favorite T.V. shows as well as a pretty good description of what my son has right now. This weekend he had two really bad run-in's with the concrete, which amounted to a very scrapped-up nose and, oh did I mention, a chipped tooth!!! Augghh! Click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see it. It's his right (to him) front tooth. There's a corner missing. Nice!!

O.K., EW, Was This Cover Really Necessary?

I mean, we get it. She screwed up. But is it absolutely vital to salivate over it like every one else in the media? Usually I can count on you not to stoop so low. Not this week, I guess.

Now I Know Why I am a Distance Runner

Sprinting sucks. Today was the first official day of my training for the half marathon in Las Vegas in December. For this race, it's not so much a worry about finishing but rather "Can I do better than last time?". So my friend Becky, who is training with me, found a training guide with speed work in it. Once a week until December, we are supposed to run speed intervals along with our normal runs. Tonight it was 400 meters x 6 at under 1:59 minutes each. And it hurt. My chest, my right leg. Yuck. That might not be fast for normal runners, but for me? Yeah, I thought I was going to die. I was actually looking forward to the 3.5 mile run afterward to let my body return to normal. Hopefully it will all pay off in the end.

Another Random Thought

U.S. Army General David Petraeus, the commander of American forces in Iraq, has been in the news a lot lately because someone somewhere as finally figured out that the war isn't going so great and now wants to know why.

Petraeus looks and sounds a lot like Patronus, as in the charm from Harry Potter. Am I right?

Hey, I never said all my random thoughts would be intelligent ones.

Random Thought

Is it possible to be profoundly bored and completely frazzled with all the things you have to do, all at the same time?

That's me right now.

I Love Football

I am so, so excited that the NFL has finally figured out that girls like football too and that we like to show our team pride. How cute is this shirt? I must have it!!

I Love This Commercial!!

Do ya think they would make me a shirt with "Aaron" on it? Gwen Stefani is so cool.

Maxin' and Relaxin' in the Pool

We got to have Daddy all to ourselves this Labor Day weekend for four whole days!! We really should have taken advantage of the time and actually gone somewhere but I was really too lazy to plan anything. And I think Daddy enjoyed the down time. To try to beat the perpetual heat, he and Aaron enjoyed some pool time while they could, even though I heard today it probably won't get comfortable here until October. Nice!!
